Leeward Birding and Windward Seawatch with Visit to Hawaii Wildlife Center
October 16 @ 6:00 am - 4:00 pm
Spend the day with naturalist Rob Pacheco for an adventure of coastal and field birding that ends with an afternoon seawatch for near shore pelagics and a visit with our festival partner and beneficiary, the Hawai`i Wildlife Center a state of the art rehabilitation center for native Hawaiian birds. This is a trip that will target our regular shorebird visitors, unusual migrants and near shore pelagic species along with some key landbirds. It is perfect for those don’t want to go out on a boat and want to do limited walking. As we venture up the coast you’ll experience the dramatic contrast of our island’s dry leeward country and the lush wet windward side.
